We moved along well with the structural garage floor replacement project we are undertaking. Once the floor was removed we installed shoring to support the wet concrete. Before we placed the concrete we carefully installed epoxy coated reinforcing steel rods. The structural engineer determined the size and placement of the rod, as well as the type of concrete to be used.
With the shoring and reinforcing rods in place we went ahead and placed the concrete. We use a concrete vibrator to consolidate the concrete into all areas. This is especially useful where we allowed the concrete to run down into the existing masonry block cores. The end result is a nice new solid concrete floor.
