100_3096 Yesterday morning I attended a business and property owners forum. The forum was hosted by the Northfield Area Chamber of Commerce, with facility space provided by Community Resource Bank. Several city council members as well as the Mayor and city administrator attended to hear thoughts, ideas and concerns about issues in Northfield. The community room was packed with people…..great to see such interest in important topics.

100_3095 The forum was moderated by local attorney and past Chamber President, David Ludescher. He allowed the assembled people about 10 minutes to address a topic he introduced, which included a proposed street light fee, a proposed new safety center building, the city process used in selecting outside consultants, the city budget, and general economic issues. The Mayor and city council gave the group feedback and some thoughts on the issues.

I thank the Chamber for facilitating the discussion. From the numbers of people in the room and the willingness to discuss these topics it seems other forums are in order. This is an excellent way for the city to interact with the business community.
