Some of the early spring winds blew out part of a wall on an older barn in the area. The owner still stores hay in the loft so he wanted the sidewall restored. We helped out by closing up the opening. It was very interesting to see the old mortise and tenon joints in the big barn timbers. Some have come loose over the years but others still are very tight. The barn is in tough shape….the owner will have to make a decision soon about repairs or demolishing it. I do enjoy seeing these fine old buildings and admiring the hand work that went into constructing them.
